NEW FOR 2024: ADULT CHORUS

ADULT GROUP CLASSES go for two months at a time and are a great way to learn an instrument in a more relaxed social setting.  Every class is 8 one hour sessions long and is $350. Chorus is $25/session and Monday Night Jam is $20/session.

Sign up below or email info@williamsburgschoolofmusic.net if you need some help.  Sign up solo or with a friend, it's going to be fun! If you don’t see an instrument/time/day that you and at least three friends would like to start your own group for, just let us know and we can add a session for you.

Intermediate level courses are open to any student who has completed a beginner course.  Let us know if you haven't taken a beginner course but think you might like to start at the intermediate level anyway.

ADULT CHORUS

We are excited to be offering a Chorus Class again - something we haven’t done since 2019. It’s time! Our Choruses will pull from a pop/rock/soul repertoire, will end each semester with a concert, and are open to anyone who loves to sing (or thinks they might!). We’re so lucky to have the very talented Madison Russell leading both ensembles. Let’s have some fun!

We will be offering both an Adult Chorus and a Youth Chorus. Both will meet on Wednesdays.
Youth Chorus will meet from 5:00-6:30.
Adult Chorus will meet from 7:00-9:00.
The cost will be $25/session and members will be charged per semester. This includes all materials.

Youth Chorus will have a minimum age of 6 and a maximum of 18. Adult Chorus will have a minimum age of 18.

Our first semester will run from Wednesday, February 7 until Wednesday, April 17. Our concerts will be on April 17.

Monday Night Jam

MONDAY NIGHT JAM

Monday Night Jam is our weekly band session for adults. There is no long term signup - you’re welcome to drop in and out as you please. They’re held every Monday from 7-9pm and are $20. This isn’t about rehearsal for a performance, just a low-pressure way to make music with other people.

Drop us a line or email info@williamsburgschoolofmusic.net if you’re thinking of coming and want to know the setlist so you can play along! You’re also welcome to just sit in and not play on your first Monday (free of charge).

ADULT BEGINNER GUITAR No prior music experience needed! Learn the fundamentals of guitar and play great songs by artists such as the Beatles, Green Day, Guns 'n' Roses, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash and more with confidence and competence. Learn the fundamental habits of a superior guitar player and master the basic chords, strums, and understanding to prepare for further study in all styles of guitar. You do not need to read sheet music. All materials provided, though you will need your own guitar. All enrolled students will have the opportunity to play a showcase at the end of the class.Wednesday at 8:00pm in our Williamsburg location and Tuesday nights at 8:00pm in our LIC location and both are 8 weeks. Intermediate level is Thursdays at 8:00 in Williamsburg only. $350

If you're looking for an overall intro to music in general, or want to dive in to playing piano/keyboard/synth this is the class for you! Learn proper keyboard technique, basic music theory and how to read sheet music in a low-pressure environment. Keyboard playing is valuable for numerous reasons and is also a great way to learn basic musicianship. No experience necessary!

ADULT BEGINNER DRUMS No prior experience needed! In our beginner drum class you will learn the basics of rhythm and playing on a standard rock drum kit. You'll pick up techniques and methods from a master percussion instructor, learn numerous beats and styles of drumming, and get yourself ready for either rocking out immediately or taking your music study to the next level. You do not need to read sheet music. All materials (including drum sticks) will be provided, though you will have the option of purchasing practice pads for home use. All enrolled students will have an opportunity to play a showcase at the end of the class.Mondays at 8:00 in our Williamsburg location, 8 weeks long. Intermediate level is Tuesdays at 8:00pm. $350
